New / Unissued – Unused surplus with no meaningful evidence of previous wear. Minor storage marks or creasing may still be present.
Like New – Excellent overall condition with minimal evidence of previous use.
Grade 1 – Good used, fully serviceable military surplus. May show light fading, minor marks, previous laundering, ownership/service markings or general cosmetic wear.
Grade 2 – Heavily used but still serviceable. May show more noticeable fading, staining, cosmetic wear, minor repairs or wear to fastenings.
Unserviceable – Major tears, substantial staining, broken fastenings or other significant damage making the garment unsuitable for normal use.
Sizing
RAF overalls commonly use height / chest sizing.
For example:
180/100
- 180 = intended wearer height in centimetres
- 100 = intended chest measurement in centimetres
Current surplus examples are commonly found in sizes from around 160/84 through to 190/116.
Because these are working overalls, they are cut with additional room for movement and clothing underneath.
