Unused surplus with no meaningful evidence of previous wear.

Minor storage marks, creasing or other signs associated with long-term storage may be present.

Like New

Excellent overall condition with minimal evidence of previous use.

Grade 1

Good used, fully serviceable military surplus.

Normal signs of previous issue may include:

• Light fading
• Minor cosmetic marks
• Previous ownership or service markings
• Light wear to the brim or fabric
• Evidence of previous washing
• Minor variation in shade

Grade 1 hats should have no major damage affecting normal use.

Grade 2

Heavily used but still serviceable.

May show:

• Noticeable fading
• Staining or heavier cosmetic marks
• More substantial wear
• Previous ownership or service markings
• Minor repairs
• Minor fabric damage or small holes

Grade 2 is our lowest normal serviceable grade.

Unserviceable

Items with major tears, significant staining, major damage or other substantial defects are classed as Unserviceable and will not be supplied through this normal listing.

Sizing

These hats are sized according to head circumference in centimetres.

For example:

54 = approximately 54 cm head circumference
56 = approximately 56 cm head circumference
58 = approximately 58 cm head circumference
60 = approximately 60 cm head circumference
62 = approximately 62 cm head circumference

The original RNPCS specification covers sizes from approximately 48 to 64 cm.

For the best fit, measure around the widest part of the head, approximately 2.5 cm above the eyebrows and just above the ears.
