Like New – Excellent condition with minimal evidence of previous use.
Grade 1 – Good used, fully serviceable condition. May show light marks, minor fading, previous laundering or other normal signs of wear.
Grade 2 – More heavily used but still serviceable. May show noticeable marks, staining, fading, stretched areas or greater cosmetic wear.
Unserviceable – Major tears, substantial staining or significant damage making the garment unsuitable for normal wear.

These RAF PTI vests are commonly marked by chest measurement in centimetres.
Examples include:

- 102 cm – approx. 40" chest
Some examples fit relatively slim compared with modern casual clothing, so customers should use the original military measurement wherever possible. Comparable 102 cm examples have been measured at around a 40–41" chest.
